The Krasnodar region benefitted from the Olympic Games new modern infrastructure, such as 367 km of new roads and bridges; 200 km of new railways with 54 bridges, 22 tunnels, and a new seaport; 480 km of low-pressure gas pipelines; new sewage treatment plants; 550 km of high-voltage power lines; and a new water plant, new cultural and health facilities, and 56 new hotels with 25,000 rooms. The Olympic project created up to 690,000 new jobs (50,000 full-time). More than 6.5 million tourists visited Sochi in 2016 (8.3% growth from 2015). Hotels achieved 99% occupancy during the summer and 80% in the winter. Furthermore, the average revenue for room grew up for 41% from 2015.
